Subscribe if you would like to see a video of me attempting to fix this, I will no doubt have to in the near future.
If I cant fix it I will post a video destroying the camera in some crazy fashion or maybe I will let the subscribers decide if I should burn it, blow it up, shoot it, drop test it out of a car window at 55mph onto the street??????

First off not trying to bash Sony, you can look back at my other videos about this camera and I have nothing but great things to say about it but just today (date of upload) I noticed the screen looked like it was peeling and after looking at it over and over found that it wasnt a protective shield but the screen itself is coming apart.
The screen is mad in layers, sony says to cut down on glare but after a little over a year it is coming apart.
I called sony and was told if it is beyond a year it will cost $221.00 to fix plus shipping, then I was transferred to Customer relations and was told if I can produce a receipt they would pay half so it would be $110.50 to fix even if it was past the 12 month mark.
I can most likely get the receipt as I bought it off a internet site so I have record of it somewhere either in paypal or credit card but while on the phone with sony I googled the problem and found there were many others with the same issue.
While some with the same issue were lucky enough to have it happen in under 12 months many were not so they paid to have it fixed.

A little off the subject but not much 3 months ago my Samsung HDTV had a spot on the screen that would not go away and was really annoying so i called samsung and they said they had many people calling in about it and had a solution so two days later a repair man showed up at my house and took the TV halfway apart to install a new part and after about an hour the TV was working perfectly.
I have had the TV for 6 years and asked the repair guy how much was this going to cost me and he said "Nothing, samsung is taking care of the bill"
It seems that since allot of people were having this problem Samsung put in place a fix for it so the customer wouldnt have to worry.

Back to Sony, no such fix is there (lol) even though in a ten minute search I found 10 people with the same problem, and more I would suspect I didnt find or didnt post anything on the internet I think Sony would at least take a second look at a product that is close to the warranty and maybe move it to a defect in design.

I will say Im not going to lose any sleep over it, its all good as there are rules in place with the warranty's and I had the chance to get a extended warranty and chose not to.
I put this video up just as a warning, its a great camera and if your gonna get one get the extended warranty!!!

Personally knowing what I know now I think I would have purchased the panasonic GH2, its a bit more but I doubt I would be having these issues.

Lastly I have owned 5 Sony HD cameras in the past and always found them to be great, I guess with new tech comes new problems and this screen isnt well made. I would expect you will hear more and more complaints about it in the future as more cameras get enough use to promote the problem so take this not as bashing Sony but just a warning about one part they have on the NEX-5 NEX-3 and most likely the NEX-5n and NEX-7 but I do not know for sure so do a bit of research on the 5n and 7 to make sure.
