A heroic song from Tapanuli, North Sumatra, Indonesia. The story is about a family with a baby daughter who waited for the father, a member of Indonesian people resistance against Dutch colonialist in Indonesian independence war, to come back home. It is unknown whether the father was dead or alive. The story was told as a lullaby.
By the way, Sungkawa told me that this song was composed by Gordon Tobing, one of the most prominent Batak song composer and singer who have popularized Batak songs throughout the world.
This song is in Batak Language. Please don't ask me about Batak language because I don't understand it. I translated the Batak language with the help of an online Batak-Indonesian dictionary. -------------------------------- Mohon jangan tanya bahasa Batak kepada saya karena saya tidak bisa. Saya menerjemahkan bahasa Batak ini dengan bantuan kamus online Batak-Indonesia.
