First in a series of Uncharted 3 videos, this one highlights various gameplay improvements from Uncharted 2. I know you guys are dying for information on how Uncharted 3 shapes up graphically (technically) compared to Uncharted 2 and just how far Naughty Dog will be able to push the PS3 this time, my next videos will delve further into this.
What you should know is ND are not willing to disappoint any gamers out there.
-Drake now has a new backward climb mechanic.
-Drake possess the new ability of aerial take downs and aerial stealth kills, much like in Assassins Creed franchise.
-fighting is more visceral, wild and cinematic than ever before. Drake will use his environment to gain an upper hand. IF leaned against a bar table for example, Drake can use bottles on enemies. Drake will be able to bash heads into walls, lean enemies over tables/chairs and unleash a flurry of damaging attacks to finish them off.
-Drake reacts to his environment in very realistic ways, he'll lean when turning a corner, maybe even grab unto a nearby object to stabilise himself, Drake may touch the walls when walking through a narrow corridor. Naughty Dog is pushing the boundaries of character-environment interaction. It looks like pre-rendered animation, yet 100% gameplay.
-Constantly changing gameplay, much like dynamic titans in GOWIII, Uncharted 3 will feature levels that are constantly changing, this chateau gameplay level is example of this, the building is set on fire by a torch, and the fire spreads throughout the entire level in real-time as Drake and Sully seek to escape. It looks incredible.
