Xu Fat Chun, was a direct descendent of the Iron Ox mantis taught by Choy Tit Niu.

This clip features his grandson, Xu Men Fei demonstrating their "Er Mun" second door set.

Grandfather Fat Chun, having tried to pass Master Wong Yook Kong's Kwongsai Mantis could not and became Wong's student circa 1949.




Mr. Xu had no reservations about stating that his Grandfather, Xu Fat Chun, had challenged Wong Yook Gong forcefully with the Iron Ox but that he had been knocked down by Wong's soft power. After a period of time the Grandfather became an instructor at Wong Yook Gong's Dan Sui Town school.

Xu Sifu states that Iron Ox concentrates heavily on external strength and that his grandfather, having recognized this deficiency had learned soft power from Master Wong Yook Gong. Today's Iron Ox is a hybrid of hard/soft power he states.

The Village Temple holds Monk Som Dot's Ancestral Shrine. The couplet calls Shaolin Temple instead of Jook Lum Temple. The center scroll calls the spirits of mantis ancestors. The Wind and Fire Hall (Feng Huo Yuan) is on top with Sun and Moon. The Village Temple was large and spacious (as can be seen in the video clips) but in obvious disrepair.
