Basic Vinaigrette Recipe

This simple oil & vinegar salad dressing, which is also called a basic vinaigrette or basic French dressing, can be mixed up in a flash. It uses the standard 3:1 vinaigrette ratio, meaning 3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar.

Ingredients:
3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
2 to 3 cloves of garlic (minced)
Kosher salt and ground white pepper (or freshly ground black pepper), to taste
Preparation:
Place all the ingredients in a blender or mixing bowl and mix for about 10 seconds or until fully combined.

Transfer to a glass bowl and let stand for 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. Give the dressing a good whisk immediately before serving.

Mustard Vinaigrette Recipe:
This mustard vinaigrette recipe is one of the simplest variations on the basic vinaigrette formula and a delicious salad dressing in its own right.

Ingredients:
3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
2 to 3 cloves of garlic (minced)
Kosher salt and ground white pepper (or freshly ground black pepper)to taste
Preparation:
Combine the mustard and vinegar in a glass or stainless steel bowl and whisk them together briefly.

Place the mustard-vinegar mixture along with the oil and seasonings in a blender or mixing bowl and whisk for about 10 seconds or until fully combined.

Transfer to a glass bowl and let stand for 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. Give the dressing a good whisk immediately before serving.
