This video is a tribute to Aleksandr Belov (1951 - 1978) In 1972 Summer Olympics, the United States' Olympic winning streak, which started in 1936, was ended by the Soviet team's victory in the gold medal game, one of most emotional and dramatic game in the sport's history. In the final three seconds the Soviets threw the ball downcourt, and Aleksandr Belov made a lay-up as time expired for the final margin of 51-50.
