Several people are defending the interviewer, I don't think he deserves it. There is being tough on your subject, not letting them evade your questions or try to befuddle you with rhetoric, things like that. That's being a good reporter. Then there is making a pretense of being tough by never letting your subject finish a sentence, like this guy is doing. I can't even comprehend why he is behaving in this way, since in his interview with Chomsky (a radical leftist Satan-worshipper just the same) he was being totally civil, like actually trying to do an interview. I can only assume that he hears the word 'communist' and his thinking shuts down. The only thing on his mind is "I'm gonna put this guy in his place alright". Such a shame.

There is a saying in my native language that person x isn't even worth as much as person y's single pube. It actually doesn't sound very good in English but nevertheless here goes "the anchor isn't even worth as much as Zizek's pube."

Chomsky was called the "rebel without a pause, the Elvis of academia" by Bono, which perhaps influenced the title of 'the Elvis of cultural theory' being accorded to Zizek?

Why blame Stalinism on communism? After all we don't blame the crimes of Pinochet, Marcos, Suharto on capitalism. Communism can produce tyrants - but so can capitalism. The NAZIS were funded by Bankers and industrialists. Hugo Boss made all the smart looking uniforms, Volkswagon made the people's car on Hitler's advice, IG Farben profited from Zyclon B etc etc. The real lessons of history, are too much power in too few hands fills graveyards - whatever the ideology.
