Race Helmet Overview & Buying Guide http://www.revzilla.com/race-motorcyc... Race helmets fall under a special category, and can be considered the very top of the food chain when it comes to motorcycle helmets. In this video, we help explain why race helmets can carry such a hefty price tag and what features a newbie to the race scene should look for. Track and race riders know that a race helmet has to be protective and keep the rider focused. From a protection standpoint, whether the helmet carries a SNELL M2010 or ECE 22.05 rating, a racer must know that the helmet will perform in high speed crashes. Aside from the obvious protection standpoint, the helmet should not cause any distractions. Those distractions could include noise, venting, visibility, non-locking face shields, weight and balance. A race helmet needs to be a Stealth Fighter, there to protect you if you get in trouble, but otherwise you should never know it's there.
