After 1year of waiting, 29 of us finally get to journey to THE legendary beauty of Mount Ophir (Gunung Ledang) standing at 1,276m (started at elevation of 200m) has made it one of Johor's most popular attractions for hikers and birdwatchers. The summit was closed as the Sultan wanted to build his palace there and the idea got booted in the end.

Gunung Ledang is believed to have the richest flora species in the world.
It has a 50 metres high waterfall with a wide drop of 50 metres.
It has icy cool waters charge down upon large boulders, then break into rushing rapids before plugging into the large sandy pool below. This waterfall, discovered some 50 years ago, is name the "Puteri Waterfalls"

The place is easily accessible and suitable for hikers who wants to feel what mountains in Malaysia are really like. Some groups are using this mountain as a training ground for other challenging venues.

Verdict : FUN FUN FUN :) the many variations from stair climbing, to trails to ropes to ladders kept me going as i was falling asleep halfway...awesome and strangely as many agreed that Belumut (2nd highest Mt in JB) is actually tougher than Ledang...
The joke for KFC is not Kentucky Fried Chicken but fondly called Killer Fitness Center. Funny thing is, the fun part of the climb is from KFC onwards! :)
