After more than 25 years of translation work, the Dogon language Bible was finally dedicated and distributed to thousands of excited Dogons, January 2012.
This project was fully conceived, governed and executed by the Dogon People of Mali. The translators are both Malian born Dogons, and the project was supervised and managed by a local Dogon Translation committee. The project was not the result of any American or European influences.
Funding to support the 2 translators and their various material needs was provided by an American-based translation organization, which also provided logistical supervision of the project.
The costs associated with the printing of the over 5,000 Bibles (as well as the production of this video) was collected through fund-raising efforts of a small Ohio C&MA congregation. This project was in no way affiliated with any organized church denomination or other organization.
