It reminded you of 1980 because you possess no political acumen or sense of history. Leave the prognosticating to people who know what they're talking about ... you ain't it.

It's supposed to be a scripted infomercial, not some variety show. 
Romney is going to win this election. This reminds me of 1980 in so many ways. 
GW wanted some tissues...not issues.
If the Eastwood episode had not happened, they would be criticizing the convention as a scripted infomercial.
