Tu Chi Nguyen is a Vietnamese national and a PhD candidate in Development Economics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva. Prior to he PhD, she worked on evaluations and social safety nets programs at the World Bank's Independent Evaluation Group. She also worked at the Asian Development Bank's Independent Evaluation Department, the International Labour Organization's Rural Employment Programme, and various international NGOs on social and employment programs in Asia and Africa. Tu Chi holds a Master in Public Policy in Political and Economic Development from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Sociology from Wesleyan University.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
