I love all the Brits in the comments helplessly trying to defend the gun.

just to give everyone the heads up, these are A1 rifles which were not the best. the ones in use today are A2 rifles which were handed to HK to sort out all of its problems. people saying the l85 is shit need there heads testing. all of the armed forces personnel whom have used the A2 IT HAS NEVER LET THEM DOWN. personal opinion, id much rather have the A2 of an AR15 platform.

look at this penis trying to fit the mag clearly too weak to just push it in firmly, dislodging rounds by slapping Base of mag. also is the l85a1 the a2 is far more reliable

This is the A1 that was crap but the A2 today is best in the world pretty much.

The L85 is basically going through the same process as the M16. To begin with it was possibly the worst weapon of its time, but now it's been upgraded it's finally getting somewhere. One or two more iterations and perhaps the SA80A3 or A4 will be as desireable as the current american M16/M4 weapons. And the main problem these guys are having with the A1 is that they're firing on full auto (or "repetition" as it's labelled on the weapon), the A1 was less crap when fired semi-auto. Still crap though.

the only thing holding this rifle together is pride. just switch to something better already.

Christ is that a real gun? It looks like a generic army playset toy, I bet it's got a switch that make the barrel light up.

thats why they took it to a german company to improve it.
