Assistant Managing Editor Debra Viadero talks about the gap between expectations and reality when it comes to the kinds of literacy skills students need for an ever-changing workplace and invites educators to take part in the “Literacy for the Workplace” summit on Tuesday, April 16, at 1 p.m.

In this online event, Education Week journalists and guests will staff online “discussion rooms” on a host of topics, including: how speaking skills are rising in prominence; the need for digital literacy; and writing skills that go beyond the five-paragraph essay.

You will get a unique opportunity to interact directly with the writers and experts who helped shape coverage of our new special report on workplace literacy.

After the discussions, watch writers and editors sum up the discussions in a series of livestreamed interviews.
