Are we about to have another streetcar election in Kansas City?

A key council committee unanimously votes this week to move forward with plans for expanding the streetcar system in Kansas City, Missouri. Proposed is an August election in which voters would be asked to approve a new streetcar taxing district that would encompass much of the city from the state line in the west to I-435 in the east and from the River Market in the north to 85th street in the south.

Overland Park starts charging to take photos in City Parks

Starting this week, photographers will have to pony up $50 for a permit for take pictures in public parks in Johnson County's largest city. If you have your camera phone and are simply snapping a picture of your kids, you won't need a permit. But if you're taking high school senior pictures, family pictures, baby photos with a professional photographer, be prepared to fork over extra cash.
