After some twenty years sitting on a roundabout at the entrance to Heathrow Airport the 40% scale model of Concorde in G-CONC needed a new home. Brooklands Museum was the logical choice and in March 2007 Fab Signs and Structures transported it to Brooklands, The model which is finished in British Airways livery was however in need of restoration. This was carried out by Brooklands Volunteers under the leadership of Gordon Roxburgh and finished in time to be displayed during the Brooklands Centenary celebrations in June.
Over the following years various ideas for a permanent location were discussed, but in the end a location at the junction of Wellington Way Avro way and Brooklands Drive was selected, as this is the main entrance to the Museum. W.Finch & Co Ltd of Bookham were contracted to undertake the move, which was successfully undertaken on the evening of the 29th of September 2012.
