It is important to optimize your link in order to get the best possible performance.

An optimized link will give you stable throughput and delay.

Due to the nature of the unlicensed frequencies, optimization is an ongoing process.

1. Set the channel width to the lowest available value.
2. Run a spectrum analysis to identify the frequency with the least interference.
Important: The spectrum analysis ha to be performed locally. If you perform the spectrum analysis with a remote station, you will lose the connection with that radio.
3. Configure the frequency with the least noise.
4. Reduce the maximum data rate by 2 modulations in the master slave or both depending on where the noise is.
5. Set the transmit queue length to a value of 8.
6. Run a link test to verify the throughput and packet loss.

Fine tuning
- Reducing the maximum modulation in steps of 1 and perform link tests to validate throughput and packet lost.
- Try different frequencies and verify the throughput results with different modulations.
