H2O is an Indian bilingual film (Kannada and Tamil) released in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in 2002. It was also later dubbed into Telugu. The script, story, screenplay, dialogues and lyrics of the film were penned by the Kannada Superstar Upendra. The film starred Upendra, Prabhu Deva and Priyanka Upendra in the lead roles.

Released in a record 82 centres across Karnataka, H2O went on to break all the opening box office records upon release and became Kannada cinema's all time biggest opener of its time. H2O completed 50 days of run in 28 theaters across Karnataka and also went on to complete 75 days of run in Bangalore, despite controversies and release in excessive number of theaters playing spoilsport. According to Upendra, the film got extra ordinary openings and collections at the box office, but could not get a long run due to excessive release, mass distribution and controversies playing spoilsport. Upendra explained that a major chunk of H2O's profits went to the distributors and exhibitors instead of the producer due to mass distribution and poor marketing by the producer.
