The one and only Cher Lloyd came to Detroit today on her US radio promo tour. Her first stop was at 98.7 AMP Radio. I was extremely lucky to win in studio passes where I got to see Cher perform a few songs and afterwards I was able to meet her, and get a picture with her.

She sang a short set of three songs, which lasted for about seven minutes. She sang two cover songs too. The first was of Usher's "OMG" which she tweaked to make her own, and the second was of John Mayer's "I Don't Trust Myself (With Loving You)." And of course, she sang her debut US single "Want U Back."

A close friend of mine and I REALLY wanted to hear Cher sing a short clip of "Swagger Jagger." My mother went on a trip to the UK in September of 2011 and I asked her to bring me back Cher's "Swagger Jagger" CD single, so I've had the song for quite a long time now. We were a bit surprised at Cher's reaction; she refused to even sing a short bit of it. Obviously we respect her reasoning and decision, I'm just surprised she refused to promote more of her material.

She also seemed to be quite abrasive during her question and answer segment. She didn't answer any of my friends' questions. She danced around them and gave sly non-answering answers. I now know that this is who she is and her personality, but at first it was quite startling and almost felt like she was being quite passive aggressive.

All in all, thank you to 98.7 AMP Radio for this incredible intimate opportunity.
