The Japanese Quails moved out to the barn about 2 weeks ago. They are nearly full grown and have a huge cage to explore. There is a heat lamp for them because, in Seattle, April is still considered "mid-winter." They still come running over when I visit and I have to make sure they don't tumble out the door when I change their food and water. Someone is starting to "crow" which disconcertingly sounds like one of them is being strangled. Next I'll be watching for eggs. Cameo appearance by Licorice the hen who can't bear to be left out of any excitement.
