Those were the days of the great fighters/boxers. They would have destroyed today's lot.

Either of these men would spank Mayweather and McGregor on the same night.

No doubt. Hagler was the toughest fighter I've ever watched. He could have been champ for a longer time even, but Carlos Monzon and Rodrigo Valdez never fought him. They are Hall of Famers, and Hagler would've beaten them too...great old school fighter. Tommy Hearns has my respect as well.

Met Marvelous Marvin in North Conway NH once as he was training for a fight.  Not entourage, just Hagler at the bar of a local restaurant, drinking water or iced tea and willing to talk to 5 local guys up for a ski weekend.  10 people in the whole place and he sat there and talked with us for about an hour before saying it was time to turn in, early morning of training lay ahead.  Great guy and still in my eyes the best of the Fabulous Four of the time (Hagler, Hearns, Leonard and Duran).

Don't forget Tyson was just around the corner of this fight. The 80's was the last great decade of boxing. Sad to see it turn into nothing. MMA is weak on skills, just brawls and 4 oz gloves and KO'ing after the guy is down. Not manly.

Hearns fought with a broken hand acquired in the first round. What a tough sonofabitch.

I agree, Hagler was the champ and the fight was way too close for Sugar Ray to come out the winner. The only way Sugar Ray should have won that fight was by a KO and he never even came close to that.

I remember going close circuit in Tulare, Ca. with my wife to see this fight. It was 3 rd. war. My wife use to like to go to the fights with me. Rip

Either one of those studs would have dropped that back peddling pussy named Mayweather in the first round.

MIKEDOUT true skills of a coward.
+FTMJarra - REAL TALK BRO! You're 100% right. All the people hating on Mayweather fail to recognize his discipline, devotion, skill, and talent. He's been on top forever. Every time he fights people think it's gonna be close or he'll lose and 85% of the time he crushes the competition. Floyd barely has to try....meanwhile his opponents are pulling out everything they have just to stay standing. I don't get why it's so hard for people to see this. Like Floyd or not...he's one of the best of all time IF NOT THE BEST. Straight TRUTH.

Hagler kept coming like a unrelenting freight train. No " feeling out the opponent" in this one.

Maybe not but any of the three could have put him out. Catching him is the thing , I always like to think of Duran doing it. Punishment!

Why wouldn't they fix it for a black guy at that time. The bigger the controversy the more money there is (bigger draw). Tyson didn't get figured out. He sacked kevin rooney and after that he lost all unpredictability and head movment. Plus the fact he was a shorter fighter and could beat taller guys is a testament to his ability. Plus Toney won as many fights as Mayweather when he was undefeated so he defintely was as successful
