Richard Grayson, Three Thousand Famous Men, 1980
Three Thousand Famous Men focuses on an improvised monologue about the idea of the hero. It was initially used as an element in a performance staged at the Arnolfini Gallery in Bristol and then the Het Appollohuis, Eindhoven Holland where the video segued into a section where the artist with either Jon Bewley or Ken Gill, dressed in formal suits, launched into an energetic bout of wrestling. It later became a stand-alone video piece.
