A satellite of protesters, ignoring designated protest route, get into some friction with the police, who pepper spray, throw down and arrest some of them. This was after about 15,000 Portlanders had peacefully completed their march, in conjunction with thousands more around the country. Police on foot, bikes and horses are mobilized to the area as a standoff ensues, blocking the light rail train tracks and stopping traffic on Broadway - on one side, a line of protesters yelling across the tracks at a wall of silent police who are blocking them from continuing up Park street. A squad of 20 or so police in riot gear drive up and warn the protesters to disperse, then jog up to the line to confront them. Eventually, protesters start to trickle down Morrison towards the Justice Center where the protest continued into the night.......
