Pumping the employee/boss/life's-purpose dilemma ... There are two musical inspirations in this song ("Ho ho ho it's magic you know... never believe it's not so..." and also, by rodgers & Hammerstein, "With a Song in My heart") that combine with a pulsing piano accompaniment to convey an office aide's impressions of a charismatic boss, leaving his position (as a public servant) to accept a position in the private sector (Goldman Sachs). His dedicated staff (at the Comptroller's Office) feel betrayed when he chooses to leave them. Oh, good, I was wondering if I had a recording of this song. There is also an audio tape version with a clearer vocal. Written and only privately performed in 1983 (1981?) the song, "The Way International" uses as its title the name of a born-again bible reading movement.
