Here's a lesson that shows a cool way to start practicing half bends when soloing. A half bend is a bend that reaches a half tone (one semi-tone) at its height. It's much cooler than a straight note when used tastefully.

You might want to practice the half bend on various notes along the fretboard, as tensions are obviously different on the higher and lower strings. Enjoy!
