William Shih, professor of biological chemistry and molecular pharmacology at Harvard University’s Wyss Institute, breaks down the research his lab undertakes into bite-sized morsels, explaining how and why molecules might be synthetically designed to do things like deliver drug treatments more effectively.

Synthetic Aesthetics: New Frontiers in Contemporary Design, a symposium held at MoMA on October 28, 2014, explored the intersections between synthetic biology and design. The event was moderated by Paola Antonelli, Director of R&D and Senior Curator, Department of Architecture and Design, MoMA.
