TV9 - Metro engineer freed from kidnappers in 10 hours in Bangalore.....!

A Metro engineer, who was kidnapped by a cab driver and three others from his office parking lot, was rescued within 10 hours by the police on night patrol in Mandya district.
KR Shivananda, 44, left the corporate office of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited in Shantinagar at 8pm on Wednesday.

He reached the parking lot and was set to board a Tata Indica (KA-50-2011) cab when three men pushed their way in and overpowered him.
After tying and gagging their victim, the kidnappers began removing his valuables as the car sped towards Mysore Road.

The kidnappers stopped the vehicle at an ATM counter to withdraw money using Shivananda's card and the car sped towards Pandavapura railway station.

The abductors' plan was to call Shivananda's family and demand a ransom. But it was foiled by night beat police, who tried to stop the suspicious vehicle.

Sensing danger, the kidnappers sped towards Melukote. The police immediately alerted their colleagues who began checking vehicles coming to Melukote. In one car, they saw the three kidnappers with their gagged victim.

While the three men managed to escape, the police nabbed the cab driver and rescued Shivananda."We've recovered lethal weapons from the driver and taken him into custody for a detailed probe," said Kaushalendra Kumar, superintendent of police, Mandya district. He said efforts were on to arrest the driver's three associates.
