Bikram Yoga is a 90 Minute Hatha Yoga class that consists of 26 Asanas including 2 Breathing Exercises. It is a type of Hatha yoga that allows people of all ages to practice this special form of yoga. Due to the complexity of the 26 asana sequence, and thorough research by Bikram and his guru Bishnu, it was decided that Bikram Yoga would be 90 minutes. Since its origin, the length of the class has never changed because it works. 75 Minute or 60 Minute “Bikram Express” classes are NOT Bikram Yoga. Although there are many Bikram Yoga and Hot Yoga studios worldwide who may be selling these various types of “shortened Bikram Yoga classes”, NONE of them are approved by Bikram. A Bikram Yoga Class is only 90 Minutes. Please do not get confused by other yoga studios who are selling “Express” classes by using the Bikram brand.
