Barefoot building and part of an ongoing series. This video begins with opening the roof to add a dormer to house the hot water tank needed to commission the Rayburn stove. Plumbing follows before the stove is lit. Other small comforts such as book shelves, a food cupboard and a plate drying cupboard are made. Then a dead wattle tree is cut down and the extended lathe is used to turn up the first of several wooden columns. It's then time for several house warming events with friends and neighbours.
These videos are a series of short summaries of activities during the rebuilding of Wheoh in the Warrumbungles a visual accompaniment to recent written blog posts at: http://duckdigital.net/Wheoh/
Don't forget that I'm not some anonymous corporate entity. I'm happy to help if you have any questions. But where I live there is no mobile or internet coverage. I usually go to town once a week (on Fridays) so my replies may not be immediate.
