One of the finest and most beloved songs by the late singer/songwriter John Stewart (1939-2008), here performed by Jan, Charlie, and Tamara. Jan Hauenstein is a long time Stewart fan and friend, arranger of hundreds of tabs of songs from Stewart's huge catalog of work, making them available to singers and musicians worldwide. Engineer for this recording is Mack Woodward, the son of another longtime Stewartista and frequent collaborator with Jan, Charlie Woodward, who plays guitar in this rendition and adds harmony to the chorus.
The video is a montage of pictures and album covers from Stewart's 49 year career, which began in 1959 as a writer for and soon after member of The Kingston Trio, flowered as a singer and songwriter of hundreds of songs (including major hits such as "Daydream Believer," "Gold," and "Runaway Train") beginning in 1967, and ending only with his passing in January of 2008. The montage closes with images of performers Charlie Woodward and Jan Hauenstein before the credits.
Many of the pictures of John Stewart included in the video were taken by Howard "California Roadman" Bruensteiner, another old friend and collaborator with Stewart, and we are very grateful to him for allowing us to use his work in this presentation.
