Access the link below for the full-length, in-depth AKAI MPD218 review and test which goes far beyond what’s covered in this video:

This is the last and conclusive video I made about the AKAI MPD 218. After two weeks of in-depth testing and hours of playing I am convinced that the MPD 218 is without equal.

There are three things that make it stand out amongst the other pad controllers that are currently available on the market:

1) Its great pad section
2) Its huge software package
3) Its low price

While this is a high-level wrap-up video of the AKAI MPD 218, I have shot a few more videos with tests, reviews and finger drumming demos on the AKAI MPD 218. So, if you like to watch more please see this playlist in which I placed them all in a logical order:

Great reviews man. Keep it up ! I just purchased Your finger drumming basic program and it goes really awesome. I've been planning to buy maschine mk 2 from natiive instruments but after I've watched this review of mpd 218, I am quite confused which pads are better :) What can You say about pads in Maschine MK 2 comparing to MPD 218? Are there much difference between feeling and sensitivity ?

Question for anyone out there in the know: I got one of these for my son (12y/o), who is beginning to take a more serious approach to music. I then saw a few videos on the Akai MPK II and now I'm wondering which is the better device? He wants to record full songs, vocals and everything. Any advice on which is better for song production?
