The Papua New Guinea community in Brisbane celebrated their 38th year of Independence with a large crowd gathering at the Mount Gravatt Showgrounds and regional groups displaying their traditional cultures throughout the day. This is an annual celebration which is now held at Beenleigh each September allowing the PNG culture to be kept alive and enjoyed by those who have lived in PNG and others with an interest in it.
