Since starting in Memphis Tennessee USA in 1928 and changing their name in 1933 in response to Lindbergh's fight across the Atlantic in the Spirit of St. Louis airplane, The Spirit Of Memphis has been making great Gospel music.
They have been on the King label 1949-1952, and the Peacock label 1953-1960's. Joe Hinton joined in mid 1950's and later had a solo hit "Funny How Time Slips Away" in 1964. Listen to this through good speakers and it will knock you out!
