This was filmed outside my classroom 3 years ago. I had the vice principal's permission to work with them because she saw the progress they were making. They are happy and they are confident. One boy even mentions that he can now read the "normal" way, too.
Sad to say that a few weeks after this the PTB came down and said to stop. I warned that this would result in five kids failing and eventually going into Special ED. It didn't matter. The person in charge, Principal Lori Hughes said she, "didn't care". I was to do what I was told or be held "insubordinate".
So I stopped. The kids all reverted right back to being unable to function and eventually were picked up by Special Ed.
To my knowledge, that's where all five of these bright children are right now - in Special Ed. And I think about them almost every day. To me, that is a crime.
