In some situations oil booms by themselves can be effective. But relying on oil booms as your primary defense against this catastrophic spill is simply not enough.

Booms can only hold oil temporarily: they are breached easily and often just redirect the oil to neighboring beaches and waterways.

ROUGHNECK Oil Traps are designed to complement your current boom system by capturing the oil after it reaches the booms.

Strategically placing ROUGHNECK oil traps to take advantage of wind direction, currents and land formations allows your boom system to trap, separate and store oil in a large holding tank for easy pump-out. Our traps can also be towed behind boats to drag entire areas.

Please watch this short video I created to demonstrate our oil trap and tell you more about how it can be used.
