We're a long way from everything Google, but the search engine giant is taking another step toward world domination with plans to offer a television service to high-speed Internet users.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the content, which could come to consumers as soon as a few months from now, would be akin to those offered by cable giant Time Warner. It will reportedly be launched in Kansas City, where the tech giant is also rolling out a super high-speed Internet service that promises to be 100 times as fast as current providers.

What will subscribers be able to veg out to? A combination of live TV, online, and on-demand TV channels. If successful, a Google spokesperson confirmed the television service could expand to other markets where consumers have few options. Trapped Time Warner haters—your knight in shining armor may have finally arrived.
