Southernmost State Tour: Rediscovering the Ultimate Florida Road Trip
Ms. Cathy Salustri - Writer, Journalist, Traveler and Clearwater High graduate; Alumni, Florida Studies Program, University of South Florida St. Petersburg
Cathy Salustri's popular program in February 2013 traced her journey of nearly 5,000 miles within Florida in a camper van to witness how the landscape had changed since the publication of Florida: A Guide to the Southernmost State in 1939. This book, published by the Federal Writers Project of the Works Progress Administration during the Great Depression, sought to promote tourism in the remote peninsula. Join us as we take another journey
with her along roads, past and present.
