Today I was at the park and noticed a really cool musical sound, it sounded like what I thought was a Japanese guitar. It turns out that the instrument being played by a lady named Yukane, is a traditional instrument called a 'Sanshin'. I thought it was very cool because these instruments have been played for hundreds of years. Apparently it is dated back to the 16th century and resembles an instrument from China.
Sanshin 三線 has a literal translation meaning 3 strings. The one that I have in the spotlight in this video is covered in a giant snake's skin called a Nishikihebi which is a giant snake, like a python.
