'Nothing But The Magnificent' is a short artistic profile on Roxy Music's co-founder and original bassist, Graham Simpson.
After forming the band with a young Bryan Ferry, Graham played bass on Roxy Music's debut in 1972, along with fellow band mates Andy McKay, Brian Eno, Paul Thompson and Phil Manzanera.
In April of 1972, Graham mysteriously left the band.....
And just disappeared....
This short film features the original Super 8 footage and audio recordings of Graham's longtime friend and neighbor, the artist Sara Cook - who called it: "Playing with my camera".
An extended documentary film is currently in production, - directed and produced by collaborator and photographer, Miranda Little.
The film will celebrate Simpson's life as co-founder and original bassist of Roxy Music, as well as the more personal aspects of his life before and after the band.
Graham sadly since passed away peacefully in Ladbroke Grove in 2012 - but will be remembered by not only those that listened to his 'melodic basslines' - but by those that knew him and still searched for him. Graham was a much loved character in and around Ladbroke Grove, loved as much for his dry wit and wisdom, as the ever present sparkle in his eye..........
