The final show in the series, Organ Donation -- Let's make a difference, is hosted by Dr Jasvir Singh Grewal. It is a discussion show exploring issues around organ donation which are important to members of the Asian and Sikh communities.
Members of the panel include people with personal experience of organ donation and transplantation and clinicians and experts on the subject. Manjinder Kaur Jagdev, whose mother donated several organs and saved lives, and Pritpal Singh Sanghera, who was on dialysis for 15 years before receiving a kidney, give their personal perspective. They are joined by a Sikh chaplain, clinicians involved in donation and transplantation and an expert in diversity in public health.
Viewers are urged to find out more about organ donation and join the NHS Organ Donor Register. It is important your loved ones know about your donation wishes. Sign up through the Sangat TV home page, www.SangatTelevision.org and click on the organ donation icon to place your name on the organ donation register immediately.
Members of the Sangat Trust and the Sangat Television team have worked with Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust's organ donation committee and NHS Blood and Transplant team since the start of 2013 to produce this groundbreaking series of television shows to increase awareness and change within the Asian communities.
Sangat Television urges all communities to join the NHS Organ Donor Register and tell their loved ones their wishes. There is a real need in the community for more donors. We all need to think about this matter very seriously, the more people that register -- more lives will be saved.
