General instructions on how to make an upside-down pineapple cake using the Sharp Steamwave oven. Make beautifully moist mouthwatering upside-down pineapple cakes in no time.



50g Butter
¼ Cup Brown Sugar
225g Can Pineapple Slices, drained with
the juice reserved
1 Egg
½ Cup Caster Sugar
½ tsp Vanilla Essence
1 cup Plain Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
Pinch of Salt


Cut out four 10cm circles of baking paper and fit into the base of four 10cm
ramekins. Place the butter in a small microwave safe glass bowl and place on base of the oven and set to: Microwave - 30 Seconds - Start.

Stir in the brown sugar and mix until smooth. Evenly divide between the ramekins. Arrange a whole pineapple slice on the base of each ramekin.

In a large bowl beat the egg until frothy. Add the caster sugar and vanilla essence. Beat until well combined. In a separate bowl, combine the flour,
baking powder and salt. Slowly fold this mixture into the egg mixture. Add
in the pineapple juice and gently mix together. Evenly divide this mixture
between the ramekins.

Place ramekins on the steam tray and then onto the glass tray. Place the trays
into the lower position. Set the oven to: Steam High - 30 Minutes - Start.

Remove from oven and invert cakes to serve. Serve with cream or ice-cream.
