This is the UK advert for the Kinder Happy Hippo Biscuits, shot in 2003. The two kids are myself and my sister, aged 7 and 9 respectively. And, needless to say, that's not our real Mum or Dad. I'm now 18 going on 19 in September, and Anna's now 20 going on 21 in December. Our moment of fame... We were part of an agency who picked us out of hundreds of other kids. We had to audition twice, and in the first one, we were asked to eat a crisp like a biscuit... we must have eaten it so convincingly like it was the best food in the world that we got into the second round! During the shooting, Anna discovered that she didn't actually like the hippo biscuits (helpful, I know!). I, on the other hand, loved them (and still do)! But we were only allowed to take one bite for every take, and then throw the rest away. I didn't like that idea, but was told that if I ate the entire biscuit every time, I'd feel sick by the end, which I still did, as we had to do countless takes of the actual eating part. The ad took the whole day to make. That was a lot of biscuit mouthfuls... but I still love them! We were also asked to laugh at a big piece of blue paper (instead of the hippo), which we had to repeat for a few hundred takes... at first it seemed kinda funny that we had to laugh at a piece of paper, but by the end...it was just 'ha'...'ha'...'ha'......
