This is my documentation of the Code Talkers Medal of Honor Ceremony that took place on November 20th, 2013. My brother and I were asked by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe to attend this ceremony in honor of our grandfather, Eddie, who was a Lakota Code Talker in WWII. His story escaped our family for generations, and we only recently learned of his dedication to a language he was forbidden to speak and how he used it to change the world. To have been asked to attend this ceremony was an honor. To actually be there in the moment, was beyond humbling. We left DC forever changed.

And yeah, I know have blonde hair... I'm used to having to justify that in conjunction with my last name. :P Whatever. I'm a Proud Lakota soul and nothing you can say about the color of my hair will shake my faith in that. ...Perhaps I'm just defensive now after decades of having to defend my genetics. I know how the internet works, and I uploaded this video to share with those who traveled this journey with us; either in person, in spirit, or in reverence. Internet troll comments will be deleted.
