Choosing the right provider can be a daunting task. First impressions are a big deal, so meeting an OB-GYN is the first step for really knowing if he or she is the right provider for you.

Most importantly, you should focus on quality. Ask the following questions when considering a new physician:

• Is he or she rated to give quality care?
• Do they have the training and background to meet your needs?
• Do they have privileges at the hospital of your choice?
• Are they covered on your health plan?

Additionally, a good provider should encourage you to ask questions, listen to you, always explain things clearly and treat you with respect.
