Java 7 has introduced a significant number of new technologies into the Java platform. There have been changes to the programming language ("Project Coin") and to the Java libraries in the collections framework, the concurrency utilities, and NIO. This session explores the enhancements in these areas. It examines these changes through the use of before-and-after examples. For each example, it shows the code as it had to be written prior to Java 7 and then with the new feature applied. You'll see thereby how Java 7 enables code to be written more concisely and expressively, resulting in systems that are easier to develop and maintain.
