Edo Scapin explain us how to build a bamboo fly fishing rod, with dry fly fishing actions in two wonderful european rivers: the river Idrijca in Slovenia and the river Mastallone in Italy. He will also show us how to catch and release beautiful big marble trouts, big brown trouts and a few hybrid between marble and brown trouts.
Edoardo Scapin, born in 1963, started to fly fishing with graphite rods, as many anglers did in that period, but at the end of the Eighties, he stepped back to rediscover the pristine sensations that made him in love with fly fishing years before. So he started to approach to bamboo fishing rods, which offer a more sporting feeling to fly fishing.
In the first Nineties Edo started to build his very first bamboo fly fishing rods and there’s been a lot of water under the bridge since that moment!!
Today Edoardo is a very well known bamboo rod maker, without any doubt one of the best in Italy. Now he could offer a range of 20 fly rod models, all with a very eye-catching look, with refined finishes. Please note that every rod has been scecifically designed for different environments and kind of fish to fishing for!
You could see his full range of entirely hand-crafted bamboo fly rods and understand his fishing philosophy in the following web site:
