Here we have a look at a Lee Enfield No. 4 Mk 1*, originally in .303 British. It was made at the Long Branch Arsenal (Canada) in 1945 and converted to 7.62mm by Canadian Arsenals Limited during the 1960's. These rifles were converted under a Dominion of Canada Rifle Association program so that target shooters could make use of the then new 7.62x51mm ammunition (.308 Winchester). Intended for target shooting these rifles were used as single shots with no magazine fitted using the original .303 extractor. I have added an L42 / Enfield style 7.62 magazine and a 7.62 extractor to make the rifle a repeater.
