James Kalm straddles his trusty bike and brings viewers along for a whirlwind kick off tour to welcome in the new year 2016. Starting on the burgeoning Lower East Side, we'll visit the Hionas Gallery and Dennis Hollingsworth's "Paint Sculpturally/ Sculpt Painterly". This show presents works that seem to veer from the 2D to the 3D and back. Dennis makes an appearance and talks about his move from Los Angeles. Then it's on to Williamsburg and the last hurrah for Pierogi in their historic North 9th Street location. We'll take a stroll through a painting show featuring text and assemblage paintings by John Phillip Abbott, and a sculpture show of pieces by Michael Ballou (aided by Whiskey the Wonder Dog). Finally, we finish up at 56 Bogart Street with a view and walking interview with Sharon Butler at her painting show at THEODORE: Art. This program was recorded on January 8, 2016.
