Here is an excellent soundboard recording of 'the Unwritten Law' plus Ian Paice's drumsolo, captured Live at the Palatrussardi in Milan, Italy on September 9th 1987, during Deep Purple's 'House Of Blue Light Tour' in support of the album with the same name. 'The Unwritten Law' was performed every night during their 1987 tour as the third song in their set, and always w. Ian Paice doing an extended drumsolo, as the studio version of this song fades out w. a drumsolo. It has never been performed during later tours. The following year when they released the Live-album 'Nobody's Perfect' in 1988, this song was not included, and neither during the tour of 1988 they did in support of it. Rumours has it, the song was tiring for Gillan and Paice, as the vocals were on the limit of Gillan's range at the time, and Paicey usually did drumsolos much later on in their set on earlier tours.
This is not a live video, but a soundboard recording combined with pictures from the reunion era of Deep Purple, and particulary 1987 and 1988.
