Many people ask how to enter Greek on their Macs. This video shows how to enable the Greek input method in OS X, as well as how to view the keyboard while you type so you can learn the Greek layout. There are some minor variations on how to enable the keyboard. This example was made in Leopard. Recently enabling this on a Lion system was roughly the same.

You'll notice I'm producing complex diacritical markings. The orange keys are the dead keys that you press to invoke the diacritical markings. These can be stacked up. For example to get ὅ, enter Shift ῎ (the ? key on a US keyboard), Experiment with the Shift, and OptionShift keys, as well as multiple combinations ᾔ ( ῎ + Option ι).
